The Newest Free To Air FTA Receivers

The Ivision IV-100 FTA Receiver

A lesser known company on the FTA dish market is Ivision. The latest offering from this relative unknown is the Ivision IV-100 digital satellite dish receiver. At first glance this unit is one of the most stylish boxes we've seen to date. A simple front panel design with a huge LCD display makes this unit easy on the eyes and will surely look great in anyones home decor. The design is simple and funtional making it ideal for FTA novices or those looking for a quick and easy solution for home satellite tv. Ivision prides itself on a stylish and simple approach when producing mass fta receivers and this one really looks great.

The Ivision IV-100 provides excellent ftree to air reception for home users. Setup is relatively easy although not as advanced as some of the higher priced fta boxes on the market.

Advanced user functions accompany this unit with the regular features you would expect from a mid level free to air receiver such as channel scanning, search functions, easy to use displays, advanced menu functions and customization.

A relative newcomer to the scene we were impressed with the overall layout and design of this machine. Picture quality was good to excellent with the connections we used and colors were vivid and crisp. The internal processor didn't miss a beat when we put this unit though some if its advanced features and were impressed with the fast reaction times and quality of response. Channel editing is easy and the parental locks are a snap. The zoom in and out feature we found handy in some viewing conditions and the on screen display provided just enough information for an enjoyable viewing experience.

Ivision IV-100 Features at a Glance:

  • -Diseqc 1.2 & USALS
  • -22K option
  • -User friendly menus
  • -Various Languages for menu
  • -Very fast change speed
  • -8 favorite lists
  • -Channel sort by FTA, satellite, alphabetical order

The Ivision-100 worked great with the different combination of dishes we tested and the DiSeqC switch proved to be on par with other switches we've tested. Satellite scanning across 4 different satellites proved trouble free and was fairly quick allowing us to cusomize our channel menu right away. The Ivision IV-100 is a nice stylish unit with functions you'd expect in this price range and should be considered for the moderate to expert fta home user.

HoustonPBS 8.1 Letterbox sometimes/sometimes notAnyone have any contacts at KUHT in Houston? On the OTA HD channel (not one of the SD subchannels) they seem to broadcast some programs in 16:9 and some letterbox 4:3 (basically pillarbox + letterbox). Not really a problem because my 622 can zoom it, but it makes me wonder why? Laziness?

Not Receiving Certain HD ChannelsHello, I'm getting a "Searching for satellite signal... (771)" on several HD channels, using the AU9 Slimline Dish. This has happened at various times through the summer and I've been on the roof twice now doing a realignment, but it seems like every time I do it, the dish moves enough that I...

Dish 301 and Dish 1000Hi guys, Help me if you can. I have a VIP 622 that is on the fritz. It's mine I own it. Dish won't fix it. In the mean time, I have an old 301 that I've pulled out of my closet and I can't get the "check switch" to work. Here is my setup, Dish 1000 pointed at 110, 119, and 129. One Dish...
